Teatro Rigodon è una compagnia teatrale con sede a Rocca Sinibalda, Rieti, fondata dal direttore Artistico Alessandro Cavoli e dagli attori Ugo Carlini e Anna Mingarelli.
Il rapporto del Teatro con il Comune e la comunità di Rocca Sinibalda si è consolidato negli anni in progetti che qua possiamo definire brevemente come glocal, concentrandosi contemporaneamente sulla dimensione locale, Rocca Sinibalda si trova sulla dorsale Appenninica che percorre l’Italia da sud a nord e sulla dimensione europea, entrando e contribuendo a costruire una rete stabile di teatri europei.
Nel contesto del piccolo borgo in cui ha sede la compagnia progetta e realizza progetti internazionali che uniscono teatro di comunità, dialogo interculturale e mobilità internazionale. In tal modo, il gruppo mira ad incoraggiare la partecipazione attiva dei cittadini e contribuire a una nuova comprensione della società e del teatro in ambito Europeo.
Dal 2008 – oltre alle rappresentazioni – ha sviluppato diversi progetti europei; diretto centri culturali; ideato e gestito festival internazionali, e sviluppato un lavoro di ricerca sulla base di connessioni tecniche fra Teatro e sport. Negli anni ha poi sviluppato una pedagogia specifica, identificata qui come teatro sociale, ottenendo nel 2021 il riconoscimento della Regione Lazio per la gestione di un laboratorio nella Istituzione totale – Carcere Circondariale di Rieti.
Rappresentazioni
Le rappresentazioni sono ideate come site-specifico destinate a spazi teatrali convenzionali. In entrambi i casi, ogni rappresentazione è frutto di una originalità di ricerca, la drammaturgia, il rapporto dell’azione con lo spazio, le macchine sceniche, e le musiche sempre suonate dal vivo.
Attualmente fanno parte della compagnia Alessandro Cavoli, Ugo Carlini, Anna Mingarelli, Greta Antoniozzi, Desirée Proietti Lupi, Angelo Desideri, Eleonora Cantarini (danzatrice), Stefano Barone (musicista). Dal 2014 le musiche originali delle rappresentazioni sono create dal musicista Mattia Caroli.
Attualmente il Teatro Rigodon è attivo su 4 progetti Europei – Creative Commune, Trust Tour, Oratio Mix, Eropean Integrity Games e dirige stabilmente tre Festival – Festival di Teatro Politico, River Art, Teatro Sacro. Oltre al campo specificamente teatrale il gruppo si occupa di grandi installazioni, videoart e del progetto WaterAct – allestimento temporaneo museale in spazi legati all’acqua. Oltre al Comune di Rocca Sinibalda, l’attività del Teatro Rigodon è supportata stabilmente dalla Regione Lazio, dal Mibac e dalla Ue.

Rigodon Theater is a theater company based in Rocca Sinibalda, Rieti, founded by the artistic director Alessandro Cavoli and the actors Ugo Carlini and Anna Mingarelli.
